What Price Glory is a really interesting vendor to poke around if you’re of an historical mindset. Far from being dedicated to Indiana Jones, or even cosplaying from genre films in general, the site is more geared towards military re-enactors and people who like to pick up military-style kit to use in their day to day life. For example, do you like boots but don’t want to be like all your pals wearing Doc Martens? Why not pick up some reproduction WW2 paratrooper boots for 85 bucks instead? That sort of thing.
Somewhere along the line, however, WPG started to do Indiana Jones inspired kit. How/why this came about, I have no idea, but I remember buying an Indy shirt off them about 20 years ago, so they’ve been doing this for some time. This longevity when it comes to Indy shines through with its jacket choices as well, with inventory carrying over from years past. At the time of writing this, there are Raiders jackets in goatskin for US$175 (but only in small and medium sizes), Raiders jackets in lambskin for US$225 (size 42, 44, 46, and 48 but do note how high those front pockets are sitting; they remind me of the pockets on some US Wings jackets I was talking about in an earlier article), and Raiders jackets in cowhide for US$175 (all sizes from S – XXXL). So there’s a lot of choice on offer at great prices.
I’ve never heard of WPGs Indy jackets being spoken of in glowing terms en masse, nor particularly negative terms, either. What I’m trying to say is it’s jackets aren’t mentioned much at all and I tend to hear it mentioned more often when it comes to Indy shirts, which get a fair amount of praise for their sizing options, material, and overall price. But the vendor is certainly an option, if you’re playing at the lower end of the jacket market. $175 really isn’t much money at all, when it comes to a leather jacket.
